It's happened: I've tripped into Twitter. I joined back on February 19, 2007, and over the course of the past year or so checked back in a few times, but as of late April, I'm in. The network effect is huge- there's no way to "get" Twitter without digging in and following a bunch of people you care about. Once you do, something clicks.
Twitter's like blogging for normal people. It's a quick and easy way to broadcast thoughts and links out to your own audience. And the Twitter concept takes blogging a few steps further, by essentially adding automatic RSS aggregation of all of your favorite bloggers directly into the experience (other people's posts become as important as your own).
Incredible network effect.
