Windows Vista pre-RC1 released

I just received an e-mail from Microsoft to download Windows Vista pre-RC1 sometime today. So it's currently downloading at home, waiting to be installed on a machine to be used. The CNET Alpha blog reported that Microsoft will be releasing RC1 to the general public sometime in late September 2006. This should be interesting, as the previous beta versions I have been running were actually quite buggy.

I want my Merom MacBook Pro!

Now that Merom's out, every day that goes by without Apple announcing its inclusion in the MacBook Pro is a day where they're falling behind the competition.

Hopefully we'll see something soon.

Time Machine

Not Apple's Time Machine.

Rather, I'm simply putting a stake in the ground that I can point to in a few years, when George W. Bush is out of office and, one by one, Administration officials start coming forward with stories about how they simply couldn't believe how stupid the man was. They can't all say so now, in real-time, because it would be impolite, impolitic, and- most likely of all- a lot of people are probably in denial about how grave the problem is.

But with a little hindsight, the stupidity and incompetence of George W. Bush, and the manner in which the greatest nation in the world was so severely damaged by it, will become one of the defining stories of turn-of-the-21st century history.

To quote a "Senior Downing Street source": "How can anyone have faith in a man of such low intellect?"
